5-Journalling Prompts

To get you started on your self-compassion journey.

Here are 5 journaling prompts that will help you develop a kinder relationship with yourself

The Friend Perspective

Write about a current challenge you're facing. Then, imagine your best friend was going through the same situation.

  • What would you say to your best friend?

  • How would you support them?

  • What would you be doing, if you were to offer yourself the same kindness?

Celebration Corner

  • Write down three things you did today (no matter how small) that deserve recognition.

  • How does it feel to acknowledge these moments?

Growth Through Gentleness

Think about a recent "mistake" or "failure." Instead of self-criticism, write about what you learned from this experience.

  • How did the challenge help you grow?

  • What did you learn from it?

  • What wisdom can you carry forward with you and use in the future?

Self-Care Reflection

  • When was the last time you showed yourself genuine care?

  • Write about one small act of kindness you can show yourself today (It could be as simple as a five-minute break with your favourite tea)

Compassion Letter

Write a letter to yourself from the perspective of unconditional love and understanding.

  • What does self-compassion mean to you?

  • If you were to take yourself on a date, how would you treat yourself?

  • What things did you enjoy when you were 8 years old?

  • Start to add those things into your diary
